The Original: Croatia’s First Buggy Tour Started on Korčula
Korčula is made for off-roading. Behind the medieval walls of Korčula Town, dusty tracks wind through terraced vineyards, centuries-old olive groves and pine forest, then drop to coves you’d be hard to find by car or without a guide leading the way. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the first buggy safari in Croatia started on Korčula.

The man we can thank for bringing buggy tours to Croatia is Zoran Franotović. While working on cruise ships, he watched guests head off on buggy excursions in the Caribbean and thought: why not Korčula? In 2005 he imported 20 buggies, founded Korčula Adventures and launched the first buggy safari in Croatia. For more than a decade, it was the only buggy tour on Korčula Island.
In 2019, Zoran passed the keys to Vlado Ilišković of Korkyra INFO. The routes, the know-how and the spirit of Croatia’s first buggy tour rolled straight on, and Vlado and his team have kept building on them ever since.

Korčula Buggy Tours Compared

1. Korčula Buggy Safari: Beaches, Vineyards & Tastings
Our classic and the most-booked buggy tour on the island. You leave Korčula Town at 10:00 and drive about 2.5 hours of the 4-hour tour, through ancient olive groves and terraced vineyards toward Lumbarda.
This one’s for you if you’re looking for the one must-do thing on Korčula island: beaches, vineyards, local flavours and off-road thrills, all packed into one unforgettable morning.

2. Afternoon Buggy Thrill Tour (2 hours)
All the dust, half the time. Afternoon departures take you through olive groves and vineyard tracks to two viewpoints, with a swim stop at Vela Pržina, one of the rare sandy beaches in Southern Dalmatia.

Every guest gets a professionally shot video of their ride to keep. It’s the easiest way to prove to your friends that yes, you really did drive like that. This is the best buggy Korčula ride you can’t make the 4-hour morning safari or your Korčula days are already packed. Spend the morning on a boat trip, exploring the Old Town or simply sleeping in, then grab two hours of off-road fun in the afternoon.
3. Private Buggy Safari (2, 3 or 4 hours)
Just your group, your pace and your tour leader. Choose 2 hours for viewpoints and a sandy-beach swim, 3 hours to add a winery tasting, or 4 hours for both beaches plus wine.

Can-Am buggies come in 2-seat and 4-seat versions, matched to your group size.
4. Buggy & Torkul Safari, Vela Luka
The west side of Korčula is wilder and quieter. This tour pairs off-road tracks with a visit to the Žuvela family’s award-winning Torkul olive oil mill and groves, and a stop at Vela Spila, a cave people lived in more than 20,000 years ago.

Five formats run from a 1-hour Quick Escape to a 5-hour Secret Tour with hidden spots and gourmet food. Longer tiers add an oil-blending workshop, wine and homemade cake. Groups are capped at 12. This one’s for you if you love food as much as off-road buggy thrills.

5. Orebić Buggy Safari, Pelješac Peninsula
Staying across the channel? This one climbs the hills above Orebić to the Franciscan Monastery on St. Elijah’s Hill, with views straight back to Korčula Town

Longer formats add a swim, pizza in Kućište and, on the 4-hour Premium Safari, wine tasting at Korta Katarina. Choose this Croatian buggy adventure if you’re based in Orebić or want Korčula on the horizon instead of under your wheels.
Korčula Buggy Tours Run All Year, Rain Included
All our buggy tours, in Korčula Town, Vela Luka and Orebić, run the whole year round, not just in July and August. And a little rain? That only adds to the thrill. Wet tracks mean more mud, more spray, more fun, and your buggy handles it just fine.
In fact, the off season might be the best time of all to ride. Here’s why:
- Fewer crowds. No queues at the viewpoints, no one else on the beach at Vela Pržina. Often it’s just you, your tour leader and the island.
- Lower temperatures. Riding through vineyards at 18°C beats 35°C in the midday sun. You’ll enjoy every minute instead of counting them.
- Korčula at its truest. The olive harvest, the new wine, locals with time to chat. Autumn, winter and spring show you the island at its truest.
Just bring a light jacket, wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and leave the rest to us. If the weather turns properly stormy, we’ll reschedule or refund you in full.
